01. Concept.
In the framework of our class “Softwareprototypig and Usability-Testing” we were asked to create two different versions of a UI-Design for an audiosystem. The designs will be tested in a global survey. The results are then used to measure the User Experience and the respective trust of the users.

02. Design.
I developed a set of icons with three different colours for each category (telephone, music, temperature). The three colours are adapted from the original colours of the brand Renault. This supports the high recognition value of the company’s corporate colour. Simple, clear and soft icons convey the brand values – emotional, young, friendly and diverse.
03. Goal.
My goal is to create a simple, clear and appealing interface so that everyone can find all information quickly and with no effort. This is very important as the system will often be used while driving. Here an intuitive and easily automated handling is key.
04. Features.
The interface includes three main categories – hone, music and temperature. In the category telephone (yellow) calls can be answered or made and voice messages can be recorded and sent. An integrated search and filter function makes the handling a lot quicker. In the category music, the driver – you can choose between individual radio stations and CD tracks or you can choose to create your own playlist. The category temperature includes all major temperature adjustment features such as ventilation, air condition or heating. All activated temperature settings are displayed in the bar at the bottom of the screen so that you immediately get an overview of what settings are turned on.
05. Challenge.
The greatest challenge in terms of UX was to create the screen for adjusting the temperature. While there are a lot of options the user can chose from, the information has to always be displayed clearly and should never overwhelm the user.
06. Fun.
Creating the set of icons and choosing different types of interactions definitely represented the greatest fun of this project.
