01. Concept.

In the framework of our class “Softwareprototypig and Usability-Testing” we were asked to create two different versions of a UI-Design for an audiosystem. The designs will be tested in a global survey. The results are then used to measure the User Experience and the respective trust of the users.

02. Design.

For the icon set of Mercedes I decided to use squares with slightly rounded edges. This is meant to appear sporty and elegant at the same time. In comparison to the icon set of Renault, the icons for Mercedes are way bigger which gives them a different character. The icon set should convey elegance, modernity and corresponding luxury.

03. Goal.

My goal is to create a simple, clear and elegant interface so that customers can effortlessly handle the screens.

04. Features.

The interface includes three main categories – phone, music and climate. In the category Telephone calls can be answered, calls can be made, or voice messages could be recorded and be sent. There is also an integrated search function, as well as filters for faster contact search. In the category Music you can choose between individual radio stations, CD tracks or you can create playlists independently. The Category Climate includes all major features such as ventilation or temperature settings. All selected climate settings are displayed in the bottom bar, so that you immediately get an overview of what settings you have just turned on.

05. Challenge.

The most UX challenge was to create the climate screen. There are so many things that you can choose on one screen, so the screen must be not overwhelming but immediately understandable.

06. Fun.

The most fun was to create the iconset with all different types of interaction.
